An Innovate RAP focuses on developing and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, developing and piloting innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

To support the ongoing implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), the RANZCO Board has endorsed our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Strategy (2020-2021). RANZCO also supports its Fellows and members to reduce and remove barriers of access to and utilisation of services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Creating billing certainty by advertising if a practice bulk bills, and actively ‘asking the question’, are two ways to achieve this. RANZCO Fellows are encouraged to:

display the University of Melbourne’s Indigenous Eye Health Unit’s ‘toblerone’ desktop resource,
display “This practice bulk bills” signage (A4 size; A3 size can be downloaded here), and
complete RANZCO’s cultural safety training courses.
