Comprehensive ophthalmologist - Wagga Wagga, NSW.

Australian trained or SIMG Fellow sought - limitless opportunities for a comprehensive ophthalmologist.

This is a very unique lifetime opportunity to work in Wagga Wagga, the largest inland city in NSW and a major regional centre for the Riverina District, known as Australia's food bowl. Wagga (as we locals call it) is far enough from the major stress of cities (but with fast transport links to them) to comfortably and enjoyably raise a family, with excellent education facilities and bountiful sports and adventure opportunities close by.

We offer:

- very well equipped practices, with excellent support staff, in a friendly community

- 2 accredited registrar training positions.

- 2 private and one public hospital appointment

- Interesting, rich and varied work presentations which would take 20 years experience in a capital city to obtain

- 2 medical schools - UNSW and Notre Dame - with conjoint positions on offering

- 70,000 population in Wagga itself with a catchment of some 300.000 people in the nearby regions

- Sydney & Melbourne 450 km, Canberra 270 km,  all very well connected by road, rail and air to the 'big smoke' with up to 10 flights a day.

- Close to major ski fields, is a sports heartland, with good schools and affordable property.

- We have trained more than 125 registrars. Feel free to ask for names so you can make your own enquiries on their thoughts on Wagga.

- We want the successful ophthalmologist to provide comprehensive care. We don’t believe in just fly in fly out (FIFO). If you want to operate then you need to be on call to train registrars and handle emergencies too.

- With saturated cities and a new potential fast track SIMG pathway, this lucrative position won’t last for long. We look forward to hearing from you.
