RANZCO Congress
RANZCO’s Annual Scientific Congresses bring together ophthalmologists from across Australia and overseas to share and discuss the latest innovations, techniques and advances in eye health care. Delegates can attend a wide range of talks and plenary sessions in the scientific program with topics such as glaucoma, cataract, cornea, uveitis and surgical retina.
The Congress also renowned named lectures such as the Sir Norman Gregg Lecture, the Ida Mann Lecture and the Fred Hollows Lecture with invited world-leading ophthalmologists.

The 56th RANZCO Annual Scientific Congress was held in Naarm/Melbourne on 14-17 November 2025 at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. A record number of delegates attended face-to-face in Melbourne and virtually.

RANZCO 53rd Annual Congress, Brisbane, 28 October to 1 November 2022
This is the first face-to-face Congress in Brisbane after the 2020 COVID pandemic.
- The entire Congress content was recorded and was accessible via the Congress Hub until 27 January 2023. Plenaries were made available for download and concurrents two weeks after.

RANZCO 52nd Annual Congress, Virtual, 26 February to 1 March 2022
After two years of postponements due to COVID-19, a virtual Congress was held on 26 February to 1 March 2022. Nearly 2,000 delegates came together virtually to listen and learn from the many amazing lectures, participate in the live Q&A and polls, adapted to the “new normal” of virtual meetings.

RANZCO 51st Annual Congress, Sydney, 8-12 November 2019
RANZCO celebrated its 50th year at the 2019 Congress in Sydney. The 51st Annual Congress attracted over 2100 delegates, of whom 890 were Fellows.
Sydney hosted both the American Association for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS) and the Asia-Pacific Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology Society (APSPOS) meetings. Both these meetings preceded the Congress which offered delegates a unique opportunity to attend all three meetings in one convenient location.
