Retina Australia – Research Grants 2026
Retina Australia is a national, charitable organisation dedicated to supporting people affected by inherited retinal diseases. As an independent organisation, Retina Australia funds and facilitates research into inherited retinal diseases through an annual competitive grants’ selection process of the best researchers from all the medical research institutions in the country. Since 1983, we have invested over $6.5 million across more than 140 projects.
Retina Australia’s research grants are focused on accelerating medical research into inherited retinal diseases in the areas of detection, prevention, advancing better treatments and cures. Applications are now being sought for research funding by Retina Australia for the calendar year 2026.
Download the “Retina Australia Research Grants Program Funding Guidelines and Conditions”, along with the “Grant Application Form”, from Retina Australia’s research page. These documents set out the procedure for applying, and the conditions of each grant which successful applicants will be required to formally accept before being funded.
Applications should be in electronic form and emailed to Rosemary Boyd, Company Secretary, admin1@retinaaustralia.com.au.
Applications close 5pm AEST on 30 June 2025.
Grant applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application in November.
