Dr Michael Steiner acknowledged in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours

Congratulations to Dr Michael David Steiner for being recognised in the Kings Birthday Honours for 2025.

Dr Steiner, NSW-Based and a Past President of RANZCO in 1999-2000, was awarded the Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the General Division for significant service to medicine in the field of ophthalmology as a surgeon, and to professional associations.

With over 40 years’ experience in eye surgery, particularly in the fields of glaucoma and laser refractive surgery, he is also a medico legal expert. An overview of his time as RANZCO President is featured on the Eye Museum website.

Insight News acknowledged Dr Steiner in this article, alongside ACT’s Mr Peter Granleese, from the Canberra Blind Society, who was recognised for his service to people who are blind or have low vision.
