Building a resilient and sustainable healthcare system is needed to better support our communities. First Nation Peoples have set a good example in understanding the landscape in which we live, using Indigenous knowledge and leadership to inform responses to climate change and avoid further harm on communities still experiencing health inequality.
Climate change is a major risk to our healthcare system. Extreme weather events such as heatwaves, floods, and bushfires, are severely affecting the health and wellbeing of people from all generations.
We must act now.
