We are seeking a motivated and skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist to join our well-established ophthalmology practice based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a general ophthalmologist with a glaucoma subspecialty interest to join a collegial and supportive team. We offer genuine flexibility to suit your lifestyle and career goals — whether you are looking for fully private practice or a blended public/private arrangement, we are open to making it work for you.
A typical working week looks like:
- 3 days of outpatient clinics
- 1 day operating (theatre)
- 1 day flexible admin / research
This is a realistic, sustainable workload designed to support both clinical excellence and work-life balance.

About You
- Fellowship-trained Ophthalmologist (FRANZCO or equivalent)
- Interest or subspecialty training in Glaucoma
- Broad general ophthalmology skills
- Eligible for full vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- A team player with excellent communication skills
